These—UA breathe trainer would be my faves, but they are so hard to put on! Apparently not good for low-volume feet either, because reviews say they couldn’t lace them tightly enough.

Pale pink is a neutral for my own style so personally, I find the colour very versatile. The question is, DO YOU?

They look great. But you need to work them into outfits to assess whether you like the vibe and combinations.

I might just go with white. The guy working here wants me to know they are 10g heavier than normal, but I just love the boy finesse and the broad base of support.

There are a lot of shoes that have that “sock” shape that makes them really hard for me to put on. :/

Here these are on my feet.

I’m going to try the very first pair on again. The white ones are still very much in the running too. Would they work in a fashion-y kind of way, if I wanted to wear them like that? Are there any here that wouldn’t?

I like both pink pairs, first one slightly more. This color is neutral and summery if that is what you are looking for. Have you found out about returns policy?

I like the white ones but I can be very slow to appreciate fashion derivatives of "genuine issue" items. The white ones look more like "real" sneakers.

my 2 cents for what its worth...either of the pink styles, which ever is more comfortable...
the white pair looks athletic and to my mind doesn't work as well as an casual street shoe...

I gave up making a decision! Asked (in the dept *and* at the register) about the returns policy and brought home the white ones and the first pink ones. I have two weeks to decide. I’m going to dig up that post from long ago where I first talked about getting these.

Are you using them for sport or fashion? I know there's a big crossover and more sporty styles are now "fashion" too, but the pink, as much as I love them, wont give you as much support in the gym (my hubs has them in another color and complains about that).

Fifthandfinest, please tell me more! The sales guy and the woman at the register both really thought the extra weight on the tennis shoes would be too much and would make them awkward for anything but tennis. What kind of stuff does your husband do at the gym, what are his feet like (mine are fairly high volume with high arches that don’t seem to care if they are supported, and are wide) and what type of support does he miss?

I like the first pink. They look the most comfortable to me.

ETA: I always find Nike and K-Swiss uncomfortable because of their shape.

RL, I love the fit of the K-Swiss (Tretorns too, fwiw). We must have really different feet. Do you like Adidas? Their footbed is too narrow for me. But the SA and cashier both thought I was crazy for wanting such sturdy, hard shoes. It’s because of them that I brought home the pinkies and want to give them a try

I wore Tretorns as a kid (someone tell me how to pronounce that please!). My shoe of choice is New Balance now. Good room in the toe box for me and also not all their shoes have that curve-in under the arch. That curve-in is destabilising. My feet have a lot of ‘roll.’

Also, I can feel the seams from inside the shoe on almost every brand except New Balance. Get blisters from those.

I had a pair of New Balance a couple years ago, tried to wear them untied. There was something different around the arch, I’ll give you that.

I would have really, really liked those black UAs today if it weren’t for that dang construction without a tongue. It was a struggle to put them on. The SA brought me a different pair like that—I gave up before I even got them on. I can fight with my gold boots if that’s what I’m in the mood for.

I don’t want to be rude to you, RL, but I’m going to stop replying here because I really prefer not to have things strung out over multiple posts—works much better for me to have it all in one place, so I’m responding in the “revived” post, in hopes I can convince people to go over there.

To my eye, the pink Nikes are a classic casual style and would be easy to wear with jeans or skirts. Like a Chuck Taylor or Adidas Gazelle. The white pair and the first pink pair both say "contemporary gym shoe" to me. That's not a look I like for myself, but I do see them worn casually all the time. That said, I wear my road-running shoes (see Find below) casually. I like them paired with jeans, chinos, t-shirt dresses, etc. Especially for travel, it's nice to be able to get away with gear-as-casual-wear.

I love the first two pairs, the second (pink) pair especially, but it limits the things you can wear them with when you go with a non-neutral like pink. On the other hand, I don't care for the black unless you're working out. They're not as cute.
