Funny!
I have a related story -- longish read, but I do think its pretty cool.
Years ago, when my husband and I were newlyweds living in a 800sf house, I started getting into interior design, garden design, etc. I watched a lot of HGTV, took classes, etc. Even worked in a design studio for a while. I regularly ripped pages out of magazines and filed them away for inspiration.
Fast-forward to a couple of years ago. We had moved into our "dream home" and started doing a bunch of work on the outside, including a big project completely regrading and paving our driveway and redesigning the front yard to make better use of the very hilly space. We hired a terrific landscape architect who was born and raised in Japan and educated at Harvard, and he did a great job -- we're really pleased and love our home!
Well, I was cleaning out some files from my office and ran across some old folders, and yes, they were those inspiration images from about a decade ago. Lo and behold, there is one that is not just a single page, but a full multi-page article with a beautiful Japanese-inspired home and garden design. The designer? The guy we hired years later, even though I had no conscious recollection of that original article. I showed it to him, and he got a big kick out of it.
