Bayalage?

So I used the remainder of my Gilt credit for a salon coupon. It's some chi-chi salon that's been written up in Allure magazine.
It's either for Bayalage or a full foil highlights. I won't use it for a few months because I'm seeing my regular hairdresser tomorrow.
I've heard that Bayalage looks more natural. Has anyone have it done?

Ok I just looked it up. It does look nice, I think the freehand application would be more natural.

Wow, I don't even know what bayalge is. All I can think of is baylene...which has to do with whales.

Painting highlights on right? I would totally try it if I had lighter hair like you. With my brown hair it would look too chunky and skunk like I think. For your tone it should look beachy perfect. Thumbs up!

Oh, now that is beautiful. I have to say that one thing that I have never fully liked about highlights ( and I have black hair so I don't have them, but on others) is how symmetrical they are. Almost like an array. I look at my daughter, who is blonde, and her hair is just beautiful with no actual symmetry in color.

I say try the Bayalage.

I 've had bayalage done, it is much nicer than plain highlights. My greys took over so I got rid of the highlights, too much moola to maintain now that I need coloring every 10 days or so. yes, 10 days... Go for it.

I've done balyage before (though only a few times) and loved it--I think it allows for a really natural look and it takes FAR less time than foil highlights (a big plus in my book). For my brown hair, my stylist lifted off what she called a "veil" of hair (basically right around my forehead/crown) and didn't put any color there so that when it fell, you got these pops of light color flashing out, but no obvious roots to have to maintain. Your hair is much lighter so perhaps not such a factor for you, but I liked the really natural effect. I think it gives the stylist a little more freedom to be "artistic," if you know what I mean, and place color naturally rather than in set little foil packets.

I've had bayalage done several times and I really like the effect. My hair is fairly dark right now but I usually go a bit lighter over the summer months and this is what my stylist usually does. The effect she gives me is usually lighter ends.

Grammar alert. I think it si spelled "balayage", must be from the french "balai" which is a broom. Sounds like a cool technique and I would go for it myself except that I already have colour and sounds like it works best in natural hair. But your hair colour is stunning, are you sure you want to mess with it?

I think bayalage will work well with the wave in your hair and is supposed to give you longer between touch ups (great for if you are working call at the weekends to save for the latest purchase).

Your hair is such a lovely rich gold colour right now but I can envision beachy ends working a treat for spring.
