Janet's post made me laugh and think! kkards comment did too:

Janet said there is a "hatred" for barrels on social media, and kkards responded by saying she loves her barrels but feels similarly about skinnies. I see the connection!

My 2 cents:

Skinnies were MUCH bigger than barrels are now. And for much, much longer. They reigned supreme for 15 years (getting skinnier and stretchier as the years went by). Most people wore some sort of skinny. On the street and in every country (I visited). Across genders.

Barrels might be all over SM and in stores, but it's rare seeing someone wearing barrels on the street. They are also far less popular with my clients than wide legs, wide crops, and relaxed straights.

I see wide legs and relaxed straights a LOT more on the street than any other jeans silhouette. I see Athleisure bottoms and shorts as
much as jeans. Those are the silhouettes that reign supreme. This is also the preference of my clientele. Very few barrels, and just about zero skinnies (slim straights).

Do you agree, and see a similar thing in your neck of the woods?
