I need a water resistant jacket for in-between weather. After trying some trenches last spring, I decided that I'd need something more rugged but nicer than my regular gear jacket. A waxed cotton jacket was on my list to try. We frequent farms several times a week, I hike regularly with the kids, and we live in a wooded location, so I thought it might fit the bill.

I looked at Barbour last spring, but they were mostly out-of-stock. I figured I'd try the sale.

I ordered this as soon as the sale started and it arrived last night. I really like it and it seems well made. I know nothing about horse riding though! Would it be inauthentic to wear this? I have no idea how these are generally seen or not.
