I remember when banana republic was all safari themed. They had this waffle Henley that all the kids had to have in the 80s, with the tag on the outside, which adults thought was crazy, but then everyone could tell you got the right brand!
We had one in Orange County, CA but I can't remember if it was at Fashion Island or South Coast Plaza. It was a fun place to shop, I got their catalogs, but although I don't remember buying anything there, I always enjoyed the ambience.
I remember the catalogues and actually ordered a long full skirt of heavy cotton that I wore so much that it had to be retired due to the seat being nearly worn through.
oh yeah! I remember the downtown seattle store, my brothers good friend worked there & they enjoyed their discount perks! loved all the stories on the clothes, a little like J Peterman adventure awaits...
I have fond memories as a kid/teen walking around their stores in awe. I remember the jeep in the store too. Their displays were unusual at the time and the safari theme was fun. I did not shop at the store back then because it seemed too "old" at the time. Ha, that changed about 20 years ago.
