Someone asked how to style balaclava.
It is not a trendy item for me and I wasn’t inspired to buy it. I don’t see them on the streets either.
For me, it started with a pure function - I needed something to better cover my hair and neck on my walks home from a swimming pool. And I remembered I had one in the 90s.

I started looking online last year but could not find one in size and shape I wanted. Now that I confirmed that the style works for me, I want to look for patterned one or a textured. And yes, I do know that I might find it on Etsy. I don’t love ordering there, I still prefer option to return and ideally would want to find one in a store.
Although, I haven’t played much with mine yet, I can see its potential. I like that I don’t have to take it off once inside, I just push it down and it becomes a scarf. I want to explore options to wear it under other hats, this balaclava is on thin side. If I wore a beret, I would try that, too.
