Bag ladies, it's time for your help!

I'm not a bag lady, so I'm taking advice! I tend to get a new bag every five years or so and carry it exclusively until it looks sad and trashy. Which is where I am now. I'm hoping to find something great at NAS, and I don't care overmuch about budget because at least I know with bags my "cost per wear" is the lowest by far of anything else I own. All mine have been Coach, but I'm off that now because they are so heavy.

What I want:

Medium size for daily use
Not cross body
Very lightweight, but not cloth or nylon...maybe faux leather? Real leather but not as heavy as Coach?
Some internal structure...pocket for keys, phone, some help staying organized
Purple or Green would be a huge plus...color but not super bright.

LMK if you come across anything that fits my wishlist! I don't want to settle, so if it's not at NAS I will keep looking. And if you love bags in general, what are some features that your favorites have that you recommend? Thanks!!

I'll be looking at bags as well. Unfortunately, I won't be able to shop until July 19th. My thoughts and advice might come too late but I'll keep swinging by this thread to see what others have to say. Happy shopping.

Well, I'm not seeing anything that really jumps out at me. These come the closest. Has anyone seen them IRL? The Bella also come in a pretty pale grey that looks nice too.

I love bags and change up my bags often and use a small to medium size bag to avoid it becoming very heavy.

I prefer a hand held bag or one that I can wear on my arm. Most of these come with the option of wearing them cross body, but I never do so, although when travelling may possibly do so.

A newish favourite is this black Kate Spade bag. I love the handle, and it its holding capacity is really good for a medium sized bag. It has nice clean lines and pretty striped lining on the inside and an internal zipped pocket.

This one? I did see it in person while I was shopping bags, but unfortunately, I didn't spend time checking it out in detail. I was busy checking out the similar RM "feed-bag" style, which I purchased. Looking at the website photos, it might not have the internal organization you need, though. It's a pretty muted green, though, but definitely reads as green and the shape is nice, particularly as a hand-held bag.

Julesegr, I did look hard at that one on the website because the color and shape are so beautiful. I just really can't go with the big open bucket though. I want my keys and phone to have their specific places to live. My current bag has inner pockets for them to sit in, no fishing around needed. The other drawback is it is more than a pound heavier than the two I linked. Mainly though, I found it really disappointing that all the RMs are just bucket style, because if that one just had some inner options it could be the one.

Peri, I didn’t see a lot of cool colors in the bag department. Lots of mustard, earth tones, and blush/pink, along with lots of black. A smattering of a pretty deep green. I didn’t think the bag selection was very compelling but chalked it up to this year’s color trends generally not being in sync with my personal preferences. I like the colors of the ones you chose. And I love that handle style on Bijou’s find. Good luck with your search!

Peri, I’ve seen both bags in person.

The teal bag you linked to does not close - and that’s a deal breaker for me. The plum has a flap, so not as easy to access, but not bad.

The only bag that I really coveted this year was the Minkoff Jody (sorry, mobile and so no find). It is a roomy shoulder bag with a second strap so you can convert it to crossbody style or not. Four rich colors, but no blue or green. I have a Minkoff bag that I just love or i would plunk down my card. Sorry for the messy link!

The bags did not thrill me either this year. Like Janet, I know that is partly due to personal needs and biases. Most have gold hardware which doesn’t work for me.

I did see 2 green bags but they did not close fully. The colour was lovely though.

The fun bag of the year is the belt bag pouch. I liked the idea a lot but could not imagine using one since I’m always carrying so much stuff.

Thanks for all your input. I've made the decision to pass on both and continue looking for bags until I find the one. Angie's note that the green one didn't close was a deal breaker, and when I took a closer look at the plum I decided all those zippers going around it would make it feel awkward to me.

I have a tiny cross body, so no need for a belt bag. Also, I can't stand belts!

As a certified Bag Person, I can report that the bag selection online seem udnerwhelming to me too. I don't need more large bags, so it's kind of a relief. Some of the smaller bags from Treasure & Bond are fun. I may get one if I can.
