Bag falling apart

I have a job interview tomorrow!!! (having not worked outside the home for 5 years). And my handbag is falling apart at the seams. Too late to buy a new one.

What should I do? Just take in my rather nice looking wallet? Or just my keys? Or both. I'll have a with a folder for my certificates, etc,
Or should I risk the bag with the pulling apart seams?

I wouldn't risk the bag. Do you have any other bags at all? Or a clutch even?

Can you put your wallet in your coat pocket?
I would find it a bit odd if you showed up to an interview with the sparkly clutch. I wouldn't hold it against you, but could be distracting.

Yeah, I would try and put things in my jacket pocket -- I know it is warm there right now, but it is easier to hang up a jacket than juggle around a folder plus a wallet plus keys.

Can you sew up the seams of your handbag?

What else are you going to wear, Anne? This is exciting!

If you have a jacket, I would simply put my keys, etc. in the pocket.

Unless you have a good friend who could lend you something appropriate to carry. Don't go in there with the clutch or with a bag that is falling apart; neither would give a good impression.

I was just going to suggest something like what Suz said -- borrow or even pop into a discount store or pharmacy to buy a sleek little simple zippered case if you must, but don't take an inappropriate bag. Stuffing things in your pockets may end up looking a little awkward too. You want to feel fab and confident going in! Good luck!

Yes, I wouldn't stuff the pockets, either. But if you only have a small set of keys and a small change purse for some cash, it should be okay...depending on the depth of your pockets, of course! But ideally...well....nothing falling apart.

I would not go without a bag! No stuff in the pockets, it's strange, a woman is expected to go with a bag!

I am a former HR rep and I would bring the bag to put your stuff in, BUT LEAVE IT IN THE CAR!!! Really all you need to bring to your interview is your keys and a copy of your resume which you can hold. One car key can go in your pocket.

Do not bring in your sparkle clutch... a leather wallet would be OK.

Good luck with your interview. Don't let this small thing distract you from being an awesome you!

I think I'll take in the wallet, which is blue snakeskin design, and can handle 2 keys put into it.
No coat weather here!
