Bad news first: I found the perfect two-tone brown oxford heel:

...but ended up taking them back because I decided the 6 was too big, and they didn't have a 5.5 in the brown colourway.

Good news: my husband got me the steampunk dream boots for my birthday -- squeeee! And I didn't even ask him to! (Although I did show them to him on the website a few weeks ago).

It more than made up for my disappointment over the brown oxfords. Next time, Miz Mooz! I'm sure we will meet again one day.

Thanks everyone! Yes, my honey is a honey. Sorry 'bout the self-indulgent post, but I was soooo excited about those boots.

Una: those Munsters are too cool, although WAY out of my comfort zone (and probably wouldn't go with anything I own)...but it's nice to imagine. Lady Gaga I am not.

Steph: thanks for the heads-up -- I did notice that the 5.5 was orderable, but I got mine in person at the Vancouver Miz Mooz shop, and they only had the 5.5 in black. The salesgirl was going to try to get them in for me, but I may hold off anyway because only so much can be spent on footwear in one season....I'd feel bad if I went out and bought a new pair of expensive shoes right after my honey just got me some really, really nice boots!
