So this weekend I went out for dinner to this Chinese restaurant, where I was the only vegetarian and everyone else ordered meat dishes (I am going somewhere with this, I swear).

After we all got our main courses, the waiter came to ask us if everything was okay and specifically asked me how my food was. I said it was great and I was happy to see that they added more vegetarian options. The next part really should have made me angry but it actually made me happy:

He said something along the lines of how thin I was and how I should eat more meat to gain weight. OK, normally it infuriates me when people--particularly total strangers--make ignorant comments about my dietary preferences, but who doesn't like being told they are thin? I know it wasn't meant to be a compliment, but that doesn't mean I can't take it as one.

When I actually *was* very skinny (less than 100 pounds), people used to tell me how tiny and dainty I was all the time, but 20 pounds later, that doesn't happen anymore, and I really miss hearing it. Hearing it again that night proved that whatever illusions I was creating with my clothes totally work. Hooray for YLF.
