Back to the Drawing Board-MOG dresses

Thanks to Angie, Sveta, Caro, Alicat, Suz, Parsley, Gaylene, Deborah, Dianthus, Ginko, Eliza, Alicat, Sarah and Vix-and others I have decided to try again. Thanks for helping me realize this dress is probably not my best style.

What do you think of these contenders I'm considering ordering?

The color of the wedding are coral and silver but the bridesmaids and groomsmen will be in gray.

Carole, hang in there. I know you must be super frustrated. But you have a lot of time, and you'll find something. Dress shopping is the WORST. I like #3 best of the group above. I'm not sure of the colors of 2 and 4 and 1 looks a bit young somehow to me.

Do you like this one or this one? Or is jersey too casual?

Thanks Sarah-I will try not to panic. Thanks for the link also, I do like the dress but the cappish sleeve and higher neckline will not work with my football player shoulders and larger bust:( I do best with a V neck and sleeveless or halter styles....hard to come by, I know!

Thistle-that's a beautiful dress, in fact I did see that at Nordies in person. I think the problem with this is the fabric is EXTRA shimmery and looks sort of cheap in photos, if that makes sense. Thanks for helping me, I appreciate it so much!

Out of the four I prefer #1 or #3 - mainly for the colours I think.

Is the the shape you had in mind?
#1 is Alexion & #2 is Vivienne Westwood.

Alicat-thanks for the link...that is a gorgeous dress and just the style that might work, however, the color is probably too close to white:( seems like there is alway a "but". I'm going to check out Neiman Marcus, though, hadn't thought of that!

Angie- Phew...thanks for the encouragement this morning..I ordered the first dress which is on back order as well as the dress below in a sapphire color. Just not sure how sapphire will pair with coral, silver, charcoal? I had no idea it would be this hard:(

Ok, Angie, I guess I'm headed in the right direction. I did try 2 on at Nordstroms but didn't think it was flattering for my body type but think I will try it again and take pictures and get the verdict here, seems my first impressions are a little off kilter!

I'm not going to be much help because I think all of the dresses here have potential. What really matters though is how you look and feel when you put the dress on your body. I find that formal-wear dresses are so individual; what looks good to some, others find too shiny, too tight, too low, too whatever.

I think you need a dress try-on marathon. Good luck, keep searching, and don't settle out of frustration. YOUR dress is out there but it may take some time and effort for you and it to find each other. And don't forget to style before you reject; as I've found lately, styling is hugely important in turning what might be doubtful into something magical.
