Sorry for the tired, unsmiling photo. I arrived home from a couple weeks in Europe on a red-eye Sunday night, just hours before school started for the year. Jetlagged teaching is brutal, but worth it -- the trip was great! I'll try to do a travel post later.

I'm not planning on buying very much for fall, but was really excited to try the Everlane Cheeky Bootcuts. I have the Cheeky Straights in the same washed black denim and love them, and thought adding a more boot-friendly cut might be nice. Based on Andrea's review on the blog Seasons and Salt, I went up one size from what I wear in the Straights. The waist gaps a teeny bit, but wouldn't want the legs any slimmer, so I think this is the right size. I might alter the waist, but need to wear them around first to see how they stretch. They are super comfortable and just different enough from all my other jeans. I'm tempted to add another pair in one of the blue washes! But I'd also like to find a true, full-length bootcut, so might hold off for a while.

The sweater was a quick impulse try, not a high-need item but I really like the colour and texture, and the slouchy fit. I wonder if I should have gone with the rust colour instead of the bronze? I'm feeling a little short on reds in my wardrobe right now, and don't want to overdo it with mustard-y shades in case I tire of them. Everlane also just released a cropped cotton cardi in a nice earth tone (the silhouette is a pretty direct copy of the IG-trendy Babaa No18 but I'm not in the market for a $200+ sweater), and now I'm wondering if another cardi might be more versatile than another crewneck... What do you all think?
