Hey all!

I am happy to finally be back from vacation; it feels like I've been gone forever. I lived for almost 3 weeks out of half of a duffel bag (my husband packed more clothes than I did!), dressing for a wide range of temperatures--40 deg F (Crater Lake, OR) to 90 deg F (Eugene, OR)--and a variety of settings--camping (Bandon, OR), urban (Seattle, WA), family reunion (Monterey, CA). Needless to say, dressing was often challenging, but my vacation wardrobe got a fresh infusion when I went shopping with Angie in Seattle.

San inspired me with her wonderful posts about her day with Angie. I thought, since I was going to be in the Pacific Northwest, why the heck not hook up with Angie?*

As you might imagine, Angie is a dream to shop with. She's warm, funny, friendly, and really knows her stuff. And she walks fast too. Angie started the process by asking about my style and what I wanted out of the day. Armed with a clothing hit list, she came up with a shopping plan. We whizzed around downtown Seattle, hitting many stores including Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Ann Taylor Loft, Macys, Fluevog, and Urban Outfitters. She also helped me find some spectacle frames, which I'll post about in a separate thread.

Shopping with Angie is liking having a fairy godmother (or a stylish best friend) plucking things off the racks that, most of the time, magically fit and look great! Along the way were lessons about fabric, drape, and cut, and we experimented with color and shape. I definitely have a better feel for what works and doesn't work for my body. I loved the "final cut" of the outfits I tried on, but couldn't afford all of it, so Angie was great at helping me prioritize my purchases.

So here are some photos for your viewing pleasure:

Items that came home with me:

Big Chill pleather jacket (from the Rack, only $40! I would have NEVER picked this out for myself. I absolutely adore it, and get compliments on it every time I wear it)
Urban Outfitters cigarette ankle jeans (I remembered Shiny mentioning her UO skinnies and had to check them out. Mine are super stretchy and super comfy)
Paul Green red flats (another Rack buy, soooo comfy)

Filtre silk top (from Nordstrom, made of really sheer silk. I couldn't resist.)
Kut denim walk shorts
Donald Pliner pewter platform wedges (still on the fence about these; the fit bothers me a little)

Notice how Angie looks cool and collected, and I am all sweaty and shiny from trekking about Seattle in 80+ degree weather!

Sorry for writing a novel here -- I was really excited about my day with Angie and wanted to share with you all

*Side benefit was that I spent two nights in Seattle with my husband, without any kids! First time away overnight sans kids for almost 7 years.
