Marcy, you are tres chic and fabulous! I just love your travel capsule and you look effortlessly stylish in every outfit! I'm so glad your shoes were *that* comfy. Amazing. I'm a big proponent of carry-on only packing and this is the way to do it. Kudos for spending your space on the extra coat. That top layer is what most people see and I'm sure it gave you a much needed change to be able to alternate them. I love your silk scarf in #1 and I'm positively drooling over the (python?) one in #4. I wear mostly neutrals and I've noticed the same thing as you did when packing--there are a lot of animal/reptile prints in my closet!
A wonderful example of packing!
Gosh, I'm so flattered! Thanks, everybody.

etvoila, we adore Paris, and try to visit as often as possible. I do find that I feel appropriately dressed in more polished and put-together clothes there than I typically wear at home in the US. I love your blog!

Claire, that scarf in #1 is a silk/ cashmere large square shawl that is SO versatile: it can be worn lots of different ways. It was a splurge from a previous trip to Paris.
You did great! I'm using all the packing inspiration from you ladies to pack for my own trip.
So nice to have you back, Parsely! and what an educational post about travel capsule. You did it so well and managed to look utterly fab throughout. I love these silverish oxfords.
Thank you for a great packing tutorial. You looked gorgeous and had lots of variety. Welcome back.
Claire, I meant to say to you, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks an extra coat makes sense. Sometimes I feel like that's the only thing that ever shows when you travel in cold weather.

On one trip as an experiment I took only 1 pair of jeans, one pair of black pants, 2 black cashmere turtlenecks, a few scarves, and an extra coat.
Period! And I felt like I had plenty to wear! I should probably do that every time.
I can't believe what a fabulous travel capsule you put together. Every outfit is interesting and different. I have such a mental road block when it comes to capsules. Yours is amazing. So glad you had a great trip. I'm making this a fave for my next trip! Thanks for sharing!
Amazing capsule and some serious style going on here! I'm bookmarking your thread to review for our first ever trip to Paris this October.

Could you share the style name of your fab oxfords?

Edited to add that with careful planning, you can definitely fit a weeks worth of clothes in a carry-on. I've only checked a bag once in my life.
Beth, the oxfords are Lucky Brand Kairo, and the color is pewter.

Parsley! You are too cool posting those lookalikes! Gak! I need some serious time to shop!
I am so impressed by your travel capsule. Thank you especially for a couple of good ideas: one is to pack a 3rd pair of shoes, the other is to pack a bit more colour in my scarves and tops to brighten up the neutrals.
Parsley, this is just wonderful and you look lovely! and you inspire me for my carry-on-for-Europe trip - starting in 2 more sleeps (just in case anyone was wondering?!?!)
Checking in late, thanks to Ornella's post, and this OH, SO HELPFUL, Parsley! Love what you've shown here as I assemble my things for London and a cruise to Spain and France.

Your AT top is adorable and I love your color choices as well as your boot/shoe choices, too. (Those boots!! Love them.)

I'm so grateful to you for your travel capsule "feedback," which is so important AFTER the trip as to what worked and what didn't work. The pic of you and hubs is so cute in photo 16.
