Hello, everyone! I've been away for the past week and missed you all- and it certainly seems that I've missed some great stuff here and on the blog, too. I got in yesterday and am only just now catching up on the Fashion Week and forum posts.
First up, the reason for my trip: my friends' wedding in our hometown. It was beyond awesome to see all my high school friends again, some who I'd lost touch with and those I'm still close to. I was worried that the jet lag would mean that the bf and I wouldn't last long, but we stayed until they kicked us all out at 2am, dancing and talking. The weather was gorgeous so I was perfectly comfortable in my olive silk dress, and the sharp-shouldered blazer was great when it got chilly later. I'm attaching two photos, one of me before we left and one (friends cropped out) of me in the "photobooth" later on, wearing the jacket.
After the wedding, we spent a couple days hanging out with my parents, cooking, vintage-hunting in small Ontario towns (I got some great milk glass and some vintage art for our kitchen) and meeting with friends for dinners, drinks and breakfasts.
On Wednesday we flew to NYC where we had 48 hours to shop, meet with friends and family, eat as much food as we could stomach, and soak up the lovely weather they were having. I kept my eyes peeled for both Angie and Maya, but alas I didn't run into either
I didn't make too many fashion purchases this holiday, but did treat myself to teeny Marc by Marc Jacobs shoulder bag in Bloomingdale's. I've been wanting a small cross-body for a long time, and this gorgeous purple number was the winner: http://www1.bloomingdales.com/.....ryID=17310 I also bought an olive cascading cardigan on sale at J. Crew (http://www.jcrew.com/womens_ca...../29880.jsp), a special "DevaFuser" defuser at the DevaChan salon, a fun tote at our hotel's very cool shop and a bunch of nail polishes at Sephora.
Oh, and a brand spankin' new MacBook Pro, but that's hardly fashion. After six years of working on my old one though, I can't say I'm not loving it!
