After seven weeks away, it’s nice to be back home. Yesterday was unpack and laundry day. Today I had some errands, so I decided to celebrate being able to wear my good stuff again.

I also spent some time this morning cleaning out my vanity - makeup and nail stuff thinned out and neatened up. I threw away maybe a third of my old nail polishes — some were separating and looking sad. A couple old eye pencils and powder blushes also got pitched. Most of the rest is still quite good. I stick with the same colors over the years for the most part, and I don’t use a lot, so my products tend to last. The things that get used up most quickly — tinted moisturizer and mascara — are replaced more frequently. My lipstick collection is very sparse at the moment, and going to stay that way. Not much need for many colors in the time of masks.

It feels good to get that cleaned up and organized! Next I’ll tackle the season switch in my closet...
