I know! I feel like thrift, consignment, and upscale resale boutique are really three different things. It's not thrifted if it doesn't have that Salvation Army smell.
Hm, I could see this as just an old pair of men's oxfords with the laces taken out. The bigger picture is, how does she feel comfortable wearing these used shoes with no socks! Maybe I am just a germaphobe, but your feet sweat a LOT and your shoes just absorb all the sweat. I certainly wouldn't want some old man's sweat mingling with mine...ugh.
Whining aside, I love her style! She is fantastic.
Jenava, that's exactly why I stopped buying boots and closed shoes at thrift stores - pumps are sort of okay, since there is such a low vamp and I can really get in there with alcohol and lysol, but I need me some fresh boots. o_0
Wow, I do love her outfit. I have thrifted some amazing shoes (in my own eyes I mean) but I have to agree there is thrifting, consignment, and all sorts of gradations in between. Anything that is curated (ugh that word!) is not really thrifted to me. Regarding the smell and ick factor, she could probably pull the tongue out and back and reach the entire interior of the shoe. This is trickier with boots and tongue-less closed shoes though!
