Hi all, it's been a while! I hope you're all doing fine.

I decided to stop shopping in late October because my budget for 2013 was blown, and it has been quite interesting to notice how quickly my focus turned from shopping to other things, and quite a relief too, actually. I've also been registering what I wore for three months now, and it is interesting to analyze the data. I have only added one garment to my wardrobe in November - a sweater I've knitted for myself. Other than that, the only thing I've bought is a new pair of running shoes. My old ones were from 2010 and just wouldn't do anymore. The thing is, I've taken up exercise again, and I'm currently doing yoga two hours a week, and cardio/weight training for another three hours. I'm getting stronger! I've also refocused on photography, albeit I'm only slowly getting back in the groove. A few minor results can be seen on my photo blog.

What I've learned about my wardrobe the past season:
I've been thinking of myself as a skirt and dress girl, but they say numbers don't lie, right? Here are my most frequently worn pieces between September 1 and December 1, meaning worn more than 5 times:

Tops:
White shirts (generic, I have three)
Green plaid shirt
Breton
Navy sleeveless top
Navy cashmere v-neck sweater
Grey wool v-neck sweater
Yellow merino v-neck sweater
Black merino v-neck sweater
Graphic sweater in black, white and caramel
Grey boyfriend cardigan
black basic cardigan

Comment:
I'm all over more fluid shapes this season. My most fitted tops and blouses remain unworn. I've also discovered that the chambray shirt is a Spring/Summer piece for me, so I've removed it. I have a lot of v-neck sweaters, probably too many. When any of these must be replaced, I'll consider crew necks or boat necks instead. I love wearing thin knitwear in wool, and would like to add a little to my collection in the sales in January.

Skirts:
Black wool midi pencil skirt

Comment:
This was a surprise because I feel I'm wearing skirts quite often. I have been wearing my red midi pencil skirt a few times, and the purple full midi skirt, too, but not as often as I thought. I'm not even looking at my shorter skirts this season.

Trousers & jeans:
Black cropped wool trousers
Blue jeans (generic, I have three)
White jeans
Navy bootcut trousers
Black skinny pants/jeggings

Comment:
I have obviously been wearing jeans a lot more than I'm aware of, the three pairs I have have got 13 wears between them. One pair that has been too tight is fitting me better now after I started working out again, and is a welcome change from a low rise pair that I don't love that much. A new pair of dark wash premium denim is on my wish list, but not an urgent replacement need. I love wearing white jeans in Autumn, and am curious to see if it will follow me into the deep of winter. The most surprising two pairs are both thrifted: A wool bootcut Boss trouser and a COS slim legged pant/jegging. I love both equally much and wear them all the time.

Dresses:
Houndstooth dress

Comment:
None of my other dresses have gotten more than one wear the entire season. I suspect a couple of my dresses that are in pure wool will see more air when Winter arrives. I also think a couple of dresses are too tight (ack), and hope to remedy this with a little exercise and conscious eating.

Jackets & Coats:
Trenchcoat
Denim jacket
Blazer (generic, black and grey)
Parka
Puffer
Plaid coat

Comment:
The most surprising discovery is that my red coat is hanging almost unworn. The remarkably mild weather has rekindled my love for the plaid coat which is too tight with another topper underneath. It is more fitted than the red coat, a little shorter, and I really like it again. Last season I intended to donate it, but kept it just in case. I'm glad I did! The trench was worn mainly in September, as the season for trenches here is very short both in Spring and Autumn.

Shoes:
Blue wedges
Brown heeled booties
Stone suede booties
Brogued Chelsea boots
Old nubuck Chlsea boots
Caramel colored boots

Comments:
No surprises here, really. I had planned to retire my old Chelsea boots, but the two pairs have very different uses, so I've kept the old ones for casual wear.

If you've made it this far, I'm very impressed by your patience. Please feel free to ask questions or share your thoughts if you like. Thanks for reading!
