Australian winter trends I am tiring of...

1) the short sleeved jumper over long sleeve top. Ubiquitous, and I am over it.
2) And more controversially - the voluminous top over leggings. I still wear them, reasonably happily, still see examples I like on others, but am beginning to be over seeing it EVERYWHERE.

What do you think?

It is similar in the UK ,I feel the same, it starts to look like a uniform after a while as everyone looks alike.
As you say there are still a few good examples around but it's had it's day.
Let's have something new.

Anne I did have a giggle as I am really enjoying wearing the mid length sleeve asymmetrical jumpers with long sleeve tops underneath

Do you know what I am over? All the summery, pastel colored clothing in the stores. I feel like we have hardly seen any winter stock this season. It's the beginning of winter and there are summer clothes everywhere!

I'm over thick jumpers, scarves, summer dresses worn with black leggings, stocking and underlayers, waterfall cardigans, knit dresses and anything bunched up and belted!

I'm with Deborah- I'm wearing short-over-long too. I haven't really seen a lot of that look in my area of Brisbane and to me it looks bit geeky and modern which appeals to me. I went to a wine festival in Adelaide on the Queen's birthday long weekend, and there was definitely a "bright young things" uniform of leggings, boots and faux fur. Luckily, I did not wear my faux-fur vest that day, as I would hate to have been mistaken for a 25 year old. ;D

Sharon, you are too funny! I wouldn't have pegged for a day over 26 I like to think we non 25 years olds bring a air of sophistication to the leggings, boots and faux fur look:)

Hello Aussie Strangers!

I clearly have been away from YLF WAY too long, as I'm feeling totally out of date with all the current styles going around at the moment.

I have fallen back off the style wagon lately and back into the "comfy" jeans, with a top, with a cardi, with a necklace or scarf look. Shame, KP, SHAME! On a positive note, I'm hoping that at least I'm slightly a "notch' up on my look before I discovered YLF.

Time to do some reading, I think!

Hi Anne, I am a little tired of voluminous knitwear and I am looking for more tailored items at the moment. I think of the 80's and all the oversized stuff I wore then. and remember an older friend of my Mum's at the time saying that I should 'make the most of my figure while I still had it!' (She was the type of person that said what she thought!)
I am still wearing short over long though cause it is a bit more interesting.

laughing because I have not seen the short sleeved jumper over long sleeves look here (North Carolina, US) and have just selected a top and jumper to try out this look when the weather cools down in 3 months!

Lyn - that conclusion was one I reached myself in the 90's, My figure isn't as good as then, but I still wonder if I will look back later and wonder why I spend so much of my 30's in voluminous tops/dresses.
