Yes ladies, I think we need to do it!

I am more than happy to head to Brisbane for a weekend later in the year if any of you are keen. (Doubt I'd be able to travel much further though...)

So, who would like to have a Qld YLF meet????

Of course, I'd love to meet our inter-state YLF members too but understand that Australia is a rather big place and travelling can be a big deal.

Definitely thinking of waiting til its a touch warmer though - I would probably freeze to death any where more south than here LOL

Pleeeeeeease can we do it in October? I have applied for annual leave then and will be travelling to QLD with my BF!!!

How is any time between October 7-12th? Closer to 11-12th would be ideal.

This would be SOOOOOOOOO exciting! OMG!!!

Oh, and SPRING will be upon us so we can be all springy and bright and cute! (if that's your thing...)

Oh yay, I'm glad you've started this thread Theresa!

Life is crazy busy for now, but if possible I'd love to catch up with you anytime from October when the weather starts to get warmer. (The only time I'd be unavailable is the first weekend 2/10 and 3/10 when I'll be in Canberra for my family's wedding extravaganza of the year.) Is October a suitable month for everyone?

Any other weekend during this time would be fine with me. I'll leave it to either Theresa or other interstate Aussie choose a definate date and will then organise to take that day off work if necessary!

Come on Aussie girls - how exciting and creating history - the first Southern Hemisphere YLF get together!

OMG this is SOOO Exciting!!!!

Well, do we want to pencil in the weekend of October 9th-10th and see if everyone can arrange that? (I would have to talk to the girls dad about swapping a weekend but that's highly unlikely to be a problem LOL)

I can only do weekends unless its school hols But I would fly down Fri night/sat morn and not fly home til sunday night so would be free all weekend pretty much.

Oh wow - we'll have to do "What to wear to first ever Aussie YLF Convention" threads LOL

Edit - how impatient am i - I just emailed the girls dad already in case that weekend suits LOL

If you are driving, you are more than welcome to stop and have a little visit with me here - I'm about 6hrs south of Airlie Beach!!

I'm jealous of you though - that time of year up there is just amazing!!!!

Well so far its all tenative, but I might be sailing around 21-27 Oct, have ALWAYS wanted to do that. I love boats. Still mightnt happen but I'll def. have the leave anyhow. Otherwise I can maybe try and wrangle a free weekend early in October, but no definite anser. I'm pretty sure I'll be flying not driving though........LOOONG way from Melbourne!!!

Woot this is gaining momentum!!! I am happy to be there on whatever date because after my 1 week skiing in August and 1 month in Europe I have totally exhausted all my annual leave so will be house bound for a while.

The other thing to think about is where to meet - maybe Queen St Mall and grab some lunch or something?

I don't know Brissie at all so happy to go with whatever other people decide- please make it public transport accessible though. I probably won't stay in QLD overnight- it's a pretty short flight up and back so I'll do it in a day.

Any time in Oct is great for me.

OK well lets give it a few days and see who else can make it and what dates suit...

I'm also happy to leave venue to the locals - I am familiar with the Queen St Mall and Chermside shopping centre but that's it!

Actually, I'd love a day shopping at Harbour Town, but getting to the Gold Coast is an added travel hassle (and would cut into time) I'm not sure I can get my head around LOL (Unless there is a simple way? I've only ever been driven there). Last time I was there I was having a great time shopping my heart out, but had a cranky ex husband and 2 cranky bored little girls with me so had to cut the trip short LOL

Tam that sounds fabulous - a friend has done the Airlie Race Week they have up there and had a ball... I did think you'd be flying though cos yes, its a VERY long way LOL.

Karen I'm so envious of your trip - I'm sure we can help you recover from it!!

Oooh I havent been to Harbour Town for ages but it is just a bit of a pain to get to unless we all stay on the Gold Coast! This is their website if anyone wants to check it out - they do look like they have some good outlets there too:

Hi Everyone,

Well I must say that my enthusiasm has not decreased this morning and is increasing when I see so many posts!

As before, I'm still flexible in terms of dates in October (except for the very first weekend), so you just let me know the date and I will be there. (I'll even put a pink-flower behind my right ear so you can recognise me! Gosh, I just can't stop being silly on this thread. Sorry. I'm such a kid sometimes. Must be from working with them all day, every day.)

I definately vote Queen Street Mall location for catching up! It is easy for interstate people to find and has great access from public transport. May I suggest a late morning meet up (say 11.00/11.30am?) followed by an excited lunch and followed by some afternoon retail therapy?

I just had to add that Puffenstuff, your two holidays sound just amazing, you lucky, lucky girl! Have you worked out your travel wardrobe yet? Will you be posting? Have you got any must have purchases whilst you are away (shoes from Italy perhaps)?

Tam you are so going to love sailing around the Whitsunday Islands! Just promise me that you'll make every effort to go to Whitehaven Beach. It is so perfect in every way, every time I've been, I have been absolutely blown away by the experience.

My vote is Queen Street mall, too. We can press our noses against the window at Tiffanys. They love it when you do that!
There are lots of different shops and food outlets and I'm sure there will be some affordable places.

Well for me it'll depend on the weekend chosen, so I'll see what happens. I have no idea about what there is to do in Brissy, so I'll stay out of that decision quite happily as it seems like you guys already have great ideas!!!

Heh this thread made me smile too, after a loooooong, grumpy day at work, yay! Does the thought of qld have that effect on everyone? I can't wait to go sailing so I hope that plan works out....depends on my friend being able to get time on this boat her parents somehow have a share in, and everyone being able to get time off work etc. If it falls through I'll be sad!!
