My August challenge was all about mindful shopping, as I try to rebuild my wardrobe from almost nothing.
I had a list of basics/essentials I thought would help me accomplish my style goals and planned to try on a ton of items and revise as necessary.
Here's what I started with:
Shoes: flat or low-heeled oxfords, leopard flats
Tops: light-colored blouse, versatile printed blouse, dark-colored blouse, button-down shirt, chunky sweater, striped sweater
Toppers/Outerwear: denim jacket, leather jacket, trench coat, dressy winter coat
Bottoms: none necessary
Added as I thought more:
Accessories: leather crossbody bag, leather belt, fedora or Panama hat
I bought the items in bold, plus a striped tee, plaid leggings, and a new pair of glasses. SIX items total (assuming I keep the two silk blouses), three of which weren't on the list. That feels like a ton to me, but I think it'll be a pretty solid core for my fall/winter wardrobe.
I've decided I can do without the underlined items after trying things on. Can't decide if I did all right at this challenge or failed miserably. I guess we'll have to see how the items I picked actually work for me?
