Soooooo I went belt shopping for today, amongst other things (also bought myself a new pair of swimmers - yay!).

I actually found quite a few belts that were 1.5-2 inches. Stupid me didn't take camera or measuring tape again, but I did bring one home with me:

I measured it just then and it's actually 1 1/4 inches....not sure if that's *too* thin?? The buckle bit isn't actually functional - it does up via the press-studs at the back. The elastic itself kinda looks like a woven design. The best thing is it was only $10!

Don't worry if you hate this one, I can return it to Target no probs!

I saw other ones more around the $20-$30 mark. A rough idea of what else I saw, that I can always go back and investigate further if you want!

- black belt with small but pretty buckle, $25, Dotti
- black belt with bronze interlocking snake buckle, $30, sportsgirl
- navy belt, Dotti
- cream belts - Portmans, Dotti & Valley Girl (whats up with all the cream??)

I will need to take a better look at the belt at work, since it's sort of hard to see on my phone, but I see potential. How come you guys get all the skinny belts?!

Oh love that belt!! I have also been on the hunt for elasticized belts that were on the skinnier side, this would be perfect. You said you got it at Target right? I will have to check it out!

Anne is Target in Australia really comcpletely seperate to other countries? Explains why we never see any of the same stuff, even a season behind I guess. Is kmart the same as well?

Kendra I am more than happy to look for you as well. I think this may have been the last (or nearly last) of this particular belt, but there were other belts in other shops. I can always go back and check. If Maya doesn't think this one will work for her you're more than welcome to try it as well of course! Otherwise let me know what you're after!

Ok, so I got home and measured my belts and I think 1.25" is going to be too narrow. I mean, it would look fine, but I already have a skinny belt, so I am hoping for something "wide" (meaning, as wide as I can manage, which is around 2").

The interlocking buckle one sounds cool, but a bit pricey especially with shipping. Hmmmm, I will have to think!

Kendra are you interested in this one from Target? If not no dramas I will return it! I'm guessing postage will be about $5-10....not really sure though.

Hmmm... thank you so much, but it would probably make more sense for me to look around stateside to save on shipping, because the item would be a once in a while wear for me.

Ooooh Kendra, that's a great one! Dunno if a medium will fit though. I wonder if the have it in stores to try.

It's definitely worth a look, can't beat that price either.

I wish they would give length measurements for belts because you never know if the letter sizing is for natural waist or not, and if it even correlates with their sizing chart.

They were both very comfortable and very cool-looking, and seem to be very nice quality. Also, it's Gap's Give and Get right now, so they are both 30% off with a promo code, coming in at around $28.
