ahhh...I had assumed that the style on the foot of the two tones automatically meant "oxford" - but it means brogue if no laces and oxford if there are laces??? YLF teaches me again! Thanks Angie!

I believe brogues are distinguished by the pointy leather detailing on the toe. Oxfords have a round leather detail toe cap.

Inge - I'm gonna go home tonight (yes...I'm on YLF at work....sssshhhhh...) and see if I have enough outfit options to go with the boots and then give it some serious thought. I'm picturing under bootcut jeans and even black dress pants, with tucked in skinnies and tunics, could you do with a dress?

Una - those boots are fab! So when you gonna bite the bullet and buy them???

Haha! i would love to, but for that price I can't justify what are essentially summer boots (they're canvas).

Brogue-ing is the dotty cut out (punch) detailing along the edges of the leather-- I think!
