I like the semi-tuck! I think it (oddly enough) makes it look a little less casual.

Thanks, Jenny Anne! I see what you mean about the outfit looking a little more formal. I guess I just have to get used to this look.

Angie had suggested using a more flowy top and lower rise shorts. I think I'll try that next time.

ooo, god job...still trying to figure it out myself...it might be my pear bottom that just looks odd because the back side stretches the non tucked bit so much..must post photos for feedback

I prefer the semi-tuck , especially since this shirt is the same length all round. It is leg-lengthening and flattering to your shape.

I like the top, and I think a lower rise would sort of neaten up the semi-tuck. Untucked you need a slimmer bottom (tapered bermudas or a pencil skirt perhaps) It's the split hem that might not be working so well here. You end up with a lot of ends. Also a belt always helps a semituck look.

Nice look! You could also tuck in the entire front of the shirt, leaving the back out. I have been obsessing over shirt hems this summer. I have one shirt that semi-tucks the best, and it is loose, drapey and has a hi-lo hem. I never realized it before, but part of my problem may have been the bottoms I've been trying the semi-tuck with (high waisted skirts) not the tops. Back to the drawing board; thanks for inspiring me!
