AT Loft sizing

Okay, I am seriously considering the $75 coat, even with the $30 shipping it's a deal. But how is the sizing? I see some posts here saying ATL runs big - is that true with the petites as well? I am a 34C and have wide shoulders for my size - would a 4P or 6P be better? If the shipping wasn't so outrageous, I'd be less hesitant. Or I guess I could order both and return one. That's $40 just to try something on, though!

I find that they run large for bottoms though the petite length is usually spot on, but I'm not sure about tops. I'd be curious to know this as well.

I find that they run large all over. (I'm rarely a medium in tops, and often can take a medium there.)

Not sure this will help but I'm a 36A. I usually take a small in regular and a medium in petites. Perhaps Taylor will chime in. She's the local expert!

I think that they run big in everything, even petites. I am a 32E, and I still wear a small or an extra small in tops. That said, I don't try on button-down things very often, so I might have to size up for those.

I'm a 34B and a 2P in ATL is usually the right size. So I'd guess 4P. If you are generally between a 4 and a 6 in a top, I'd definitely go with the smaller for ATL.

LOFT runs generous...size down rather than up. I am sure a 4p will be better than a 6p

I'm going to really confuse you here (sorry), but I actually had to go up a size in this coat. I normally would have ordered a 6P, but when I tried it in the store, it was a little snug in back and would not have allowed for layering. So I ended up with the 8P. I'm a 34C and do not have broad shoulders.

Maybe it's just this coat, because I'm normally a small/4 at ATL. I don't think I've ever gotten an 8 in anything, even in petites, and I have quite a few of their clothes.

$30 seems like a lot for shipping, they do free shipping if you spend $100. You might want to see if there is something else you need.

I was in the store yesterday and tried on the Melton Wool Military Coat (I am thinking of buying this one - which one are you looking for?) in size 2. This is the size I usually take at the Loft, but it was too big and boxy. I think you and I are of a very similar size. They didn't have any petites (of that coat) in the store, nor did they have a size 0 in the regular ones. I thus wanted to order one online, but I don't see ANY petite sizing in that coat.

That coat does not come in a petite size. I tried it on in the store and they are holding it for me because I am not sure about the fit. I am going back tomorrow to try some things let me known if I can help.

Oh, that's too bad AG I completely sympathize. I waffled over that stupid shaggy vest for so long and missed out as well. FWIW, I'm starting to see a few of them pop up on ebay (though sadly not in my size), and I'd bet this coat will show up too. I don't know how comfortable you are with ebay, but for me it's a blessing. I recently found and bought a BR sweater that I have been regretting losing out on for about 2 years thanks to ebay.

Someone might return too, so keep checking.

You might also try calling their customer service to see if they can have a store ship it to you.

My computer has been broken, what coat is this that you want? Is it sold in stores? Maybe I or someone else could buy it and ship it to you, would save you a few ???.

Aw, Jen, you're so sweet! I'm not sure it is worth that trouble. I'm going to call and see if they are really all out. One thing I've learned from YLF if that it's not the end of the world when you miss out because you may just find something better.
