Athletic luxe? (Not!)...can this jacket be saved? (Pics)

Thanks to everyone who answered my first post about this jacket, and in particular to Sarah, who helped me understand how the jacket itself does not read as 'athletic' and why. Although I have loads of sports gear, it doesn't cross over into my R/L outfits. I like the idea of 'sporty luxe' for me, but after sorting through my closet, I've come to the realization that I probably don't own a single sporty item other than my slip on sneaks! I don't even own a hoodie! The pictures below tell me I am classic to the bone!

So...please comment away about my attempts to 'style' the jacket below. Any, and all suggestions welcomed including putting it in the 'donate' pile!

I don't know if it reads as sporty lux rather than work wear, but it looks great in most of these combos to me!

My particular favorites are #4 LOVE the gray tones, the slogan on the top and the silver shoes, and #5 with the cobalt. I also think #1 and #2 work really well (with 2 being more formal).

I think #6 with a different cut of pants - do you have track pants? might work quite well. (It works now, but is more classic/traditional than sporty)

Your hair is also looking pretty great!

I didn't comment on your first post, but I'm with rabbit - don't see anything particularly sporty about the jacket. Like it in all the combinations besides probably #6 which is a bit too formal/stuffy.

I agree with the others - it looks great and very classic to me more than sporty. You are sporty yourself so the vibe could come from you.

I like the way you have styled this in the tonal pencil skirt variations.(#1,#2 and #4) The straight cuts seem to work well with the straightness and simplicity of the jacket. The jacket reads "classic" to me. And I noticed your hair first too - looking really good!

I am going to admit that number 6 is my absolute favorite. Perhaps it is the office I work in, but number 6 would look great where I work. The others would look "odd." What type of client do you work with?

Well, even if not sporty luxe, this jacket can certainly be saved for classic outfits like these. I like 1, 2, and 6 best.

As a fellow devotee of "classic" I love this jacket. Looks 1 and 2 are strong but my fave is the tone on tone in 4. Really classy. I can see it working well as part of a work capsule that can pinch hit on more casual days.

Carla, well you are proving a good sport, trying out all these outfits to show us! I like all but 3; I agree with Sharon that the straighter cuts of skirt and pants seem to work best with this jacket. You should definitely hang on to the jacket, imo, even if it isn't the sporty luxe item you want; I think it looks great on you, and you've shown that you have a lot to wear with it. You can always get a sportier type of jacket, too ( like the ones you showed on your other thread), if you still have a yen for that look.

I like the last two photos best, because the very particular gray of the jacket works well with the dark trousers and and the denim blues. In the other outfits the colors seem to conflict. I also think that both the sleek, minimal office look of #6, and the casual-but-put-together look of #7 seem classic, comfortable, and very you.

I love it with the blue! And think it's very good the way you've got it in the last three pics in general. Getting more sporty... The jacket is sporty-like to me because no lapels and the side stripe. And the material looks a knit on my phone. But a thin hoodie underneath - more sporty items would push your looks with the jacket toward sporty. You are definitely styling classic tho in the first pics.
