Athleta v Gap Fit blackout leggings?

Hey all-I saw that Gap Fit has leggings called blackout, that claim to be fully covered. Since they and Athleta are associated, and Athletas are 100% opaque, I wondered if Gap Fit's were comparable (at half the price). If not, no biggie, as the CPW will be low either way!

I have wondered about Gap workout gear on many occasions. It always seemed to me to have a slightly scratchy feel to it so I never bought any. I should tell you I have sensitive skin and the feel of the fabric is crucial to me. I found FABULOUS Athleta Leggings on sale at REI.

I have tried GAP workout wear many times (duh - too many times ) and the quality in the leggings is just not there for me. I agree with Sterling about the scratchy feeling , and the fabrics they use for the tights/crops etc are not as soft, stretchy-yet-supportive as those from Lulu, Nike, or Lole etc. The tops/jackets/bras are ok, but with Gap, I believe you get what you pay for. No experience here with Athlete as they haven't offered shipping to Canada until very recently.

I have been a Lulu wearer for years. The last time I was due for replacement bottoms I decided to try the Gap Fit because, as has been noted, they are cheaper. I tried them on and could not get them off fast enough, I don’t know if it was just the feel of them or my body instinctively knowing this was not up to Lululemon standards. That was going on 2 year ago so the quality may have changed.

Thanks all! I thought maybe since they were owned by same company they may be ok, but sound like the Gap's are not worth it. Leggings go through a lot, so they need to be durable!
