Glad this was helpful for some! I’m not really in the market for another puffer either, even though mine are mostly more utilitarian than fashiony. I was mostly curious just for curiosity sake, not with any real intention of buying unless it was a slam dunk fantastic.
Unfrumped, I hear you! I have a really nice periwinkle Arcteryx at the ranch and nearly brought it home. One of the few pricier items I have ever bought for ranchwear, but the color and fit were really good for me so my husband talked me into it. And I have a Uniqlo puffer, an old Canada Goose Down, a black Lucky Brand hooded puffer that I wore a lot on our camping trip, and my long black puffer, which is sadly starting to show some wear — I must have ripped it somewhere because little feathers are escaping. I need to investigate and repair!
Jenn, you’re absolutely right about the tugging down issue — I already have that problem with some jackets that I bought years ago when I was a size smaller. They’re snug if I zip them up — mostly I just wear them open. They’re toppers like leather moto jackets, so not as important to be able to zip as functional outerwear. I wouldn’t buy something new with that fit issue.
I hope someone here gets one or the other of those jackets. The metallic one is cool — it comes in other colors too — but definitely a different silhouette that may not be easy for everyone to wear.
