I will (probably) go to Burlington Coat Factory today. I just checked online, and their petite sizes online go up to 14, not 16. What is the deal here? This is a COAT FACTORY.

Okay. SNORE..........seriously, I am boring myself with this.

Anyway, I will check them out. (There IS a Nordstroms nearby I've never checked out, so that did motivate me.) Winter has arrived in earnest here so I will have to make a decision soon. A warm, $15 thrift store cashmere coat with bulky shoulders may be one of my choices for now. I have to move on!

Mochi, go there and try all of their coats. It doesn't cost you anything to try them. You may find something you love there. If you have time, stop by some other places too, macy's? nordie's? Target even!?! They have some really nice coats right now.

Even though you've found that Burlington Coat Factory possibly only goes up to a 14 in petites, don't forget that there is a lot of variation in size and fit across different brands.

ummm, errrm, uh,

I didn't get out to the Coat Factory today!

I ended up with a big change in plans...but let's be honest, I am not looking forward to the task...especially right before Christmas.

HOWEVER, I really have to go there (plus I have some items to return at nearby Nordies, so to get my $200 + back, I will need to drag myself there).

Tomorrow doesn't work. I'm planning on going Thursday or Friday. Wish me luck!

Oh, that reminds me...I did stop in at a nice consignment store (around where I was otherwise doing necessary errands today). I saw a coat I liked a lot, but the pockets seemed too low to me, so I didn't buy. So technically I did look at coats in earnest (they had a whole rack of them, many of them way too big, sigh.)

Thanks, annagybe! Very interesting--I had never heard of this brand, but just today there was a Pendleton coat at the consignment store. Size was off, but it was a nice coat. I'll check their webpage.

It's based out of Oregon. Either runs very traditional or very western. However, their quality, especially they're fabrications are amazing.

I second Pendleton's excellent quality (legendary, actually).

Mochi, how did you like the silhouette of the red coat? I actually rather like the straight lines on you. The pocket flaps might have been tuck-in-able, reducing them to mere slits. and they were hitting you in a slim spot I think. The cuff details were nice too.

You are getting closer and closer to your coat and better at determining what looks good on you. Yay!
