Shevia, when I did the post college graduation Eurail summer, I took a paper agenda with magnetic closure and this lovely design that I'd been using the last couple years. It held a calendar, address book, and scratch pad. As the trip was winding down, it got really full, and then it was gone. In Venice, I had gone to a payphone to call my parents. When I got back to my room in the convent, my backpack was unzipped and the agenda missing. I wanted it for years--all the people I'd met that summer, all the college friends and other info from that era--gone. I assume the thief thought it was a wallet or checkbook, and tossed it aside when it was worthless to them. This one has a zipper pocket on the side touching my back. But thanks for the reminder.
Katerina, I've just seen that there are many sites on upcycling those pods and selling the resultant art. I suppose it's better than pitching them after one use, but I prefer to avoid them altogether.
Jenni, I hear you on the varying quality.
