At Home With Kate Spade (I'd like to apply to be her roommate.)

via From Me To You, I stumbled across a great blog post featuring photographs of Kate and David Spade in their beautiful home. I'm no longer surprised that I am perpetually in love with her clothing/handbag designs. Her home is gorgeous, artistic, and colorful, as I'd expected, but what strikes me most is that it's so approachable.

It's not hard for me to see someone curling up on the windowseat with one of the many books lining the brightly painted shelves, or snuggling up on the couch with a dog and cup of tea. It's eclectic, almost bordering on cluttered, and doesn't read as being pretentious at all to my eye. The framed prints on the book-stuffed hutch remind me a lot of my grandmother's house (in a great way.) This is so very close to the vibe I would like my home to convey - sophisticated but cozy and warm, a bookworm's haven.

(Besides that, I'm totally intrigued by the necklace Kate Spade is wearing in the photographs.)

I'm still browsing through the archives of this site, but the entire "At Home With..." feature is rather rather interesting and sometimes quite inspiring.

If I remember and am able to spend time on the forum this week, I'll add this to the weekly links post.

I'm moving in! Love their apartment and everything in it. I am so not a minimalist in home decor.

I was just looking through an older book I have called Style by Kate Spade. It has these adorable watercolors and comments about colors and classics. Very fun and it seems her home is same vibe.

David Spade is drinking Starbucks from a to go cup - kind of funny. And I like that Kate is not a size 0 fashionista - nothing against size 0's - but I can relate!

Kari thanks so much for this. My best friend visited on the weekend and on her arm was a truly fabulous Kate Spade handbag! We had quite a chat about how much we love KS designs so I was thrilled to see your post. I am going to email her the link now.

Why am I less than impressed by what Kate is wearing?? But I do love the apartment. And why did I think the Spades were siblings, not spouses? Hmmmm. I am so glad you posted this, Kari!
