We wear our shoes inside and don't ask guests to take their off.
For comfort reason I often change to ugg boots (in winter) when I get home.
Elpgal, you wrote

Is that really considered shocking where you are? Pretty normal in Australia! I'm not that big on it personally but my children certainly are.

Easy, breezy bare feet. I don't like having my feet covered. I reluctantly break out the socks when winter strikes.

havaianas flip flops year round unless it's really cold when I reluctantly put on socks, but pretty much year round I can't wait to get home and out of regular shoes and into my flip flops.

At home, I am either barefoot or in slippers.

At other people's homes, I am either in shoes or slippers depending on the hostess's preference .

My barefoot days ended with my first attack of plantar fasciitis 15 years ago. I rarely walk more than a few steps barefoot or in socks--most often when I go through security at the airport.

I have wood floors and I hate feeling dust underfoot, so at home I wear flip flops year round. Here in So Cal it's not the custom to remove shoes at other people's houses so I keep my shoes on. When I'm hanging out at Gentleman Friend's house I generally wear flip flops, too, because he also has wood floors.

ETA, fieldmouse, you crack me up!

Socks in winter. Barefoot during the warm months. We are a shoe free house. All my friends are amazed how clean their socks are after being in my house. I even clean the dog's paws after being out. My biggest concern is not dirt. It is all the chemicals and germs that could be transported indoors. Yes, my name is Lara and I am a germaphobe.

Pffffhahaha! Fieldmouse, you're wise!
I go barefoot.

I would turn into a frog if I went barefoot....I have such a thing for having something on my feet...Even if I am home and really my floors are relatively clean...I have on slippers...Roxy for the summer and spring...WUGs (Walmart Uggs...smile) for the winter and late fall...
I am not sure why I have such a thing for shoes...

I go barefoot but wear OrthaheelĀ® fuzzy slippers. If it's winter and I'm cold, I'll also wear socks with them. They have a nice high arch and are adjustable so they work well. I had plantar fascia pain a few years ago while wearing 25-year-old Birkenstock sandals around the house. Switched to Orthaheel and my feet healed within a couple weeks.

fieldmouse....I did the same thing, which is why I had not posted here before.....
