Hello again! Before I go on about where I was and how glad I am to be back, etc., etc., can I just show you what I did today?

There are a lot of pictures, below. I bought two skirts and four shirts at Ann Taylor, which adds up two 8 outfits (for a grand total of ~$150 due to the sale)!

Note: I wore nude heels in all the photos because I wanted to really show off the way colors can "match", "compliment", and "contrast". I wanted the focus to be on the clothing colors. In real life when I wear these, I will likely try a variety of shoes. Fun!

Photo 1: the haul
Photo 2: I like the contrast of colors, as well as that of proportion - the blousy orange top with the body-con skirt
Photo 3: separates masquerading as a dress
Photo 4: same as 3 but with a hot pink belt
Photo 5: orange jersey top with side ruching and little buttons on the shoulders
Photo 6: I envision this outfit completed with my white Gibson jacket, for even more color-blocking effect
Photos 7-10: I love this patterned skirt, and was determined to find a variety of tops to wear with it. Thankfully, three of the four new shirts look great with it!
Photo 11: Bonus photo! This is a new Eileen Fisher linen, asymmetrical hem top in a gorgeous citron that, fascinatingly, looks great with my coloring. It also brings out the citron in the skirt pattern. This combo is much less body-con, but I'm up for a change. I think that it looks better in person than in the photo.

I'm looking forward to getting back in the swing of things. Spending the last year on call while working full-time clinic hours and doing my masters sucked the creative life out of me. I'm not on call anymore, have changed my academic direction, and now look forward to getting the creative juices flowing again! I've missed this space and can't wait to enjoy the inspiration of all of you lovely people!
