Contrary to popular belief, humans rarely grow up to have perfectly symmetric bodies. In most cases the asymmetry is so mild one can't even notice it without pointing. Still, my own asymmetry used to freak me out even though other people can't see it.
My entire left side from head to toe is different from my right side. I'm not sure why, but my waist is a bit chunkier and the left breast is bigger than the right.
The breast size difference doesn't bother me too much, since approx. 5% of female population have perfectly same size breasts.
I have sometimes difficulties finding ear plugs that fit in the left ear as well in the right, and the same with socks. Luckily, my eyes differ only slightly from each other.
The waist issue was the biggest concern and it used to bother me for years, since I have an ok curve on my right side while my left side is straight-ish. It looks as if I'm two different bodies mashed into one. I also feared something is really wrong, because I didn't know how common asymmetry is. I know now, but sometimes I still think my body is 'deformed' rather than 'unique'.
Have you had similar experiences and how do you feel now? Have you had any difficulties with finding fitting clothing or footwear because of asymmetries?
