Asymetric tops

I love the look of tops such as this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayI.....K:MEWAX:IT but am wondering about bra straps. Does it need a strapless bra or just leave the strap showing on the one side? x

do you have a multi way bra Louise? On some versions you can remove one strap. I think a black strap would look okay but not stellar with the first top.

No I don't have a mulitway bra. That and strapless are always on my list but I can never find a comfy one x

I'd agree with R&J. Black would probably be the only color bra strap I'd sport, but strapless or multi-way would be better.

I'd say strapless, which is unfortunate, because I don't think there is such a thing as a comfortable strapless bra.

I don't like bra straps showing in most cases, but with an asymmetrical off the shoulder top like that I think a coordinating bra strap showing is fine. You could even get one of those rhinestone decorated bra straps to wear with it.

Im not a fan of that first style, but I would definitely wear strapless if you get it...showing bra straps on a outfit *really* brings down the stylishness of ANY look, imo....

I like the second one better mostly because I don't like the drawstring waist of the first one. Also vote for a strapless bra.

I definitely would vote strongly against a bra strap showing. Although a rhinestone strap that looked like part of the top and not like a bra strap could be pretty great.

Louise - I can highly recommend Marks and Spencers strapless bra. It has a very wide band at the back, which helps with security!

I think that a pretty bra strap showing with this style would be fine - especially if the rest of the outfit is sophisticated. So something silk looking rather than elasticated.

I really like the pattern on this top and could totally see you wearing it - don't you have black skinny jeans.

I love the purple Wallis one too. BTW - I was looking at the BHS website last night and they now stock Wallis and have some great items on sale.

I'll look into the marks and spencer one on saturday I'm dragging BF to birmingham so he can show me the quickest way from Moor street to new street station for the train to london in a couple of weeks, sooo excited!!!!!

Yes BHS sells wallis, our local store does which seems a bit daft though as we have a wallis store too and they sell the same things! x

I'm not a fan of a bra strap showing, but with a top like this what about a colored tank top with a built in bra? I'm thinking purple would go with the black and white top.
