And what are ur thoughts about this dress? I don't have a particular occasion for it but worth buying for when the time comes?

I don't quite "get" the shoulder thingies. I find them a little distracting--but I'm generally a pretty classic dresser. My concern is that I might want to wear a dress like this with a topper, and it would probably be difficult to do that if you have those shoulder things there.

I love the dress itself. It looks so flattering, I love the bodice and the flowy skirt. I even like the collar at the neck.

The part of the collar draping around the upper arms would drive me crazy, however. So that is the dealbreaker for me. I wish the collar straps ended at the top of the bodice.

But that's just my humble opinion!

The strap detail looks to me like part of a different dress. It's heavy, and kind of fights with the floaty nature of the dress itself. Of course, the strap detail is what makes it unique -- I think I would like it better on a more streamlined dress with a heavier fabrication.

There's something a bit "tacked-on" about the shoulder bit. It looks a bit to me like the product of a Project Runway challenge that would get a criticism of "overdesigned."

I would pass. I'd be worried it would be a bit dated or I'd fall out of love with it before I had a chance to wear it.
