The review! These culottes are a great fabrication, a good value in the $100 range. However for me, they did not fit well. They're not very generously cut in the waist and hip, kind of short through the rise, in a way. This doesn't work well for me as an apple, and I now can see why I favor jeans so intuitively. For me at 5'9" the length hit me at the biggest part of my calf, so "awkward," indeed, but still they drape nicely. I honestly think it's a versatile length. The color is more green than appeared on my monitors but still definitely ochre.
As for me and culottes? Jury is out. I enjoy having a small wardrobe, and replenishing for summer would make this item fully 1/6 of my options. I think I will see how the boyfriend jeans and boyfriend shorts and Boden skirt work out that I have on order. If I worked in an environment with other fashion forward women, I'd be more inclined to look harder for my first pair of culottes. (I'd try these Ella Moss ones that have been talked about or the Raquel Allegra!) But as a work at home or in a film production environment, jeans, cropped skinnies and simple skirts might suit me the best.
