ask greg: adding pix from ipad2/android

on the ipad2, i click on "add a photo" but the follow-up pop-up screen does not pop-up.

on the android, i get a message "[file name] is empty."

any hints?

Me too! I suspect the iPhone app may work for the iPad, but have been too lazy to try...

I think that there will be an android app coming soon - see ad to right of screen about the iPhone app.

I love the iPhone app, but it's frustrating that you can only see Realtime posts on it, and not all the other forum discussions.

I'd love to be able to post pics directly from my iPad2 also! Although I suspect it may not be possible w/o an app... I'm guessing picture upload is via Javascript, which the iPad does not support.

I'm sure the app will work on the iPad (don't have it though - no iphone!), although it will be lower resolution obviously...

If you are accessing YLF from Safari on the iPad there is no way to upload a photo directly. The reason being that the iPad doesn't have a filesystem that I can access directly from the browser.

One way to do it is to use the iPhone app (you can also install the app on an iPad), but although this works it is not ideal because the app wasn't developed with the iPad in mind. As Diane says, it works at lower resolution.

And as Janet says, right now the app only shows the realtime threads. If there is demand for it we'd like to extend the app to cover all the forum categories, but first we've got to get that Android version out the door.
