ask anybody: talbots sizing review?

hey guys, any feedback on how the new look designs at talbots fit, especially for the petite gals?

i remember comments on previous thread about their proportions being on the generous side even for the smaller sizes.

I don't think their sizing has changed much (it tends to run large), though maybe someone with experience with petites will chime in.

I can't speak to petites, but the rest of their clothes run really large on me, at least one size and sometimes two. It's lovely to pretend that I am a size four or two, but it's just a numbers game.

I've purchased petite sizes from Talbot's in the last year (not sure when the design change took place) and yes, I'd say they do run on the large size, about one size larger than usual.

I have to agree with Becky, about 1 size larger. It can depend on the item though.

I find Talbots sizes are all over the place. I have every size on the labels in my closet, yet all the actual clothing seems to be the same size. If possible, I'd recommend trying on the actual garment you are interested in, just to be sure.

thanks, ladies...i was prioritizing my time and it doesn't sound like talbots will be particularly high yield.

Yes, a bit large, though there is some variability. I can wear their smallest size petite jackets and tops, but not skirts or pants. I usually have the jackets nipped in at the waist, particularly if I go up to a size 2 for a better shoulder fit.

ETA: BJ, do give them a try, though. So many beautiful things in their latest catalogues!
