Ask Angie: Which dress would you choose?

Out of curiosity Angie, if you were shopping for me, which dress would you choose? The first two are Maggy London and the third one is Donna Morgan. They all come in petite and are all about the same price point. I'm not sure if I'm going to pull the trigger but would love your input nonetheless. Thanks!

I vote #2! I saw it in the store and it caught my eye--I didn't have time to try it on, but it's really pretty looking. I think you'd look great in it! The other two are pretty too but don't seem to have the same impact.

Interesting...may I ask what sleeve shape/length would be the best for me? I often wonder about cap sleeves as they tend to hit my upper arm at its widest point. Probably not the most flattering.

Exactly.

Sleeveless, or *around* elbow length gets my vote. A tapered short sleeve is good too.

Another issue with short sleeves is that when they end at the fuller part of the chest, the sleeve line and chest create a wide line that may not work.

i love #3. I saw that dress earlier in the year and was drooling.

It's funny you mention this Angie because my floral dress and my black/white tiered dress have this type of snug cap sleeve and I think that's partly why I almost always wear them with some type of topper.

Dianthus - isn't that Donna Morgan turquoise dress gorgeous? I love the saturated colour.

My vote for #3 also. Gorgeous color and I think a flattering style.

Wouldn't mind seeing how you look in #1 either.

I like #2, it's the sort of thing I wear, but I think it's symptomatic of my Baby Jane problem.

I love the second dress. Bold colours and patterns are so eye-catching and very "you". And I would give the sleeves a chance before dismissing them. Sometimes if short sleeves have enough of a slant they are more flattering than one might guess; it all depends how they hit on the arm. Regardless, though, it would be an easy fix for Wonder Woman.

I love the #2 dress and I think the sleeve would probably be ok because it is angled! If it wasn't perfect you have it altered to be even less of a sleeve. What a GORGEOUS print!
