Ask Angie: Which bag & shoes? Is this blazer OK or would cropped be better?

HI Angie & all. I'm sorry for all the wedding related questions. This wedding is stressing me out almost as much as my own, with it being outdoors, daytime into night & the UK experiencing a cool spring, though warm today & predicted to be quite wet again this year.

I have 2 dress options, one coat, one blazer, one pair of black ankle rain boots. If I wear the sleevless dress I may end up in a blazer or coat all day & freezing without them for photos. I'm not sure about the blazer with sleeveless dress. Perhaps I could just wear the coat with that one.

The before or without rain shoes & bags are undecided. The white bag & shoes in pics are not the actual ones but used for colour. The camel wedge bootie & the black lace-up bootie are most likely the actual ones that will be used in that colour but not if you have other style suggestions but like the colour. The camel are new & I don't know how comfortable they will be for a long day on my feet. They were inexpensive so I could try wearing them for a long day & not worry about not being able to return. The black ones are comfortable but maybe too chunky but the groom wants it to be a UK festival vibe, with bluegrass band & mud & he is wearing chinos & tweed jacket so I think the lace-up boots fit the Mumford & Sons vibe. White might get grass & mud stains? I'm not sure if stains will be permanent if I spray them first. If I accessorise for white or camel & then change to black rainboots later will it still look OK with white or camel or bone bag? I haven't got a camel bag yet. Other colour suggestions I haven't tried are welcome too.

From all you described (mud, festival vibe, weather variations) I kind of like the outfit in #11 - do you have a black cardi or blazer in case the rain coat is too heavy? But #12 looks very wedding appropriate too. I don't love the print dress with the black booties but it would work of course with the shoes in #12 or with the nude booties.

You have SO many fab options, Elle! You lucky lass Here's my 2 cent:

The blazer over the frock in #3 works very well.
#4 is stunning and you don't need to take off the coat if you're cold. I kept my citron trench on over my sleeveless sheath all day at a wedding in Japan last year it was so cold in April.
#8 and #9 are gorgeous. By all means keep your trench on. I like the light clutch with that outfit.
#10 and #11 are gorgeous too - just a little more casual.
#12 is beautiful, but you need warm dry weather.

I will try foot petals in the camel booties. DH said they were ugly. I'm fine with the height but my toes scrunch into the point so the foot petals might help with that. Otherwise I can keep looking for other camel shoes. I know the black ones are comfortable. I will probably look for a camel bag because when I change into black rain boots I think a camel bag will look better than white or bone. Maybe I'm being selfish, but with the weather in the UK being much wetter these days, caused by the Atlantic warming up, who plans an outdoor wedding in the UK?

Does anyone know if white leather gets permanent grass & mud stains if pretreated?

I am with you, Elle! Especially this year. What the heck???? Outdoors?!?

It also sounds as if the dress code is the type guaranteed to give just about any woman conniptions. It's the kind of event where it is impossible to anticipate what's really appropriate.

My favourites among these combinations are: 4/5 and 8/9. I also really like the DV with the blazer, but yes, you need good weather for that.

I like the DVF with the camel booties and trench (4/5) and the peach dress with the black booties and trench (10/11). I think 10/11 fits the festival vibe better. Bonus: the rain boots are a similar color and shape as the black booties so they'll look good w/ the dress too.
