Ask Angie: What type of glasses should I look for? (No pics)

Angie, I would love some suggestions from you about what type of glasses frames I should look for? Any ideas about color? Style? (I had my colors done and am a light summer) I have a small face, and features, although not my nose. I think my eyes are one of my best features, so I like to emphasize them whenever possible. I am willing to be adventurous and try something new. My DD will be here in a few days and she can help me look because its nearly impossible for me to see without my glasses!

What do you think of blue glasses, coloured frames? I'm thinking you can wear glasses with a rounder shape. I feel I need rectangular frames to counteract my little round head

As you await Angie's response, I'll add my 2 cents since I've been looking at glasses online for several weeks now.

I like the directions of the reply above. I'm thinking a light periwinkle. It looks great w red (I think you like red, but I'm not certain).

With your delicate features, I believe a slim rectangle would look good. Translucency is an upcoming trend in eyewear. I think you could pull off a translucent light blue very well.

Another color that may suit you is coral. How would you feel abt that?

If you're not interested in a color color. A stainless steel frame would be highly chic on you with your coloring.
I believe rectangles or something "geometric" would fit you well.

I like the idea of a light blue or periwinkle. I haven't seen any of the translucent frames and look forward to this, that sounds nice.

From seeing the darker frames you showed awhile back, I think you are looking for a "medium" tone/color since your eye color can take that. And a cooler color than you were wearing in wardrobe before your new palette.
You might have fun trying on reading glasses, since they tend to be available in lots of colors and finishes, to get an idea of colors or depth. That might give you a target of options in case a "real" frame in the right shape can be special-ordered in a particular color.

Sorry for my late response. (Been out and about all day).

Staysfit, may I suggest fully rimmed frames in a colour like blue, cranberry, red or a shade of purple. Ideally you want some action on the inside of the frame (like another colour), which softens the entire vibe of the frames.

Try not to go black or dark brown. Do not go too heavy and wide on the frame, but make sure that the temples (side arms) are sturdy. Frames with dainty temples look slightly dated to my eye.

Your eyes need to be centered in the frames and follow the line of your brow. Do not go for styles that droop at the side. Eyewear must always lift at the cheekbone and top outside corners of the frame.
