Ask Angie: What footwear with NAS Fuzzi dress?

I have that Fuzzi dress from NAS with the embroidery and birds in the black colorway with red and green print. (It's this one, only in different colors: https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/f.....categoryid)

If I wear it with sheer black hose, what footwear do you recommend with it? Can't do heels, can't do anything pointy or narrow, and the dress hits me below the knee.

Any general suggestions?

What a gorgeous dress. No real help with footwear...would you try a dressy bootie? I have huge footwear issues and boots seem to work so much better for me.

I would absolutely try a dressy bootie. "Dressy" often translates to narrow and heeled, though.

Anyone have a specific dressy bootie to suggest that's good on highly fussy feet?

Perhaps these are not dressy enough, but I I have these booties in two colors, and I don’t find the pointy toe uncomfortable at all.

Meant to add, the ankle fit is close which works for my narrow legs. I seem to remember you had thin legs, too.

I got the same dress, and plan to take it with me on our trip to Europe for the holidays -- it will be my New Year's Eve in Vienna dress! I am definitely thinking dressy-ish black booties are what I will take to wear with it (the Topshop ones below are the most likely ones for me, since I'll be able to wear them with other outfits on the trip as well). If there is a refined bootie with a more slightly pointed/almond toe (I know you can't do a true pointy toe) and a fitted ankle to keep the effect as sleek as possible, that's how I would go.

Or how about a low block-heel pump in something like black suede? I think the textural play would be lovely with that dress.

I had not thought of my over-the-knee boots, Angie, mostly because of their color -- mine are the taupey shade rather than the beautiful deep red that I think Una has.

Yes, Aquamarine, skinny calves and ankles here, with more substantial thighs. Great.

When I wear this dress, I'll see if DH will take a picture so I can show you what I end up doing. Thought I would be wearing it to a fall fundraising event or two, but we ended up staying home from those this year.

All right, Mrs. Cox -- if you must know, I ordered a pair of the Naturalizer flats in burgundy velvet.

Colored shoes with sheer black hose -- is that done? (Or is asking that like asking whether cars have replaced horses?)

It sounds fabulous to me but two years ago I wore sheer black tights with subtle sparkles on the back of the calves and mint green heeled oxfords. So, I love contrast. Your dress is gorgeous!

Sheer black hose seem like they would have a similar look of those sheer black sleeves so sound perfect with the dress and with burgundy ballet shoes. Do you have a burgundy bag? If in doubt, that should pull it together." A green bag would probably work well too, picking up another color in the dress.
