Cookie, you are hilarious!
Carol, I love those trousers .Nice shape, colour -- all of it!
I can't speak to whether they will irritate your skin or whether they will wash and iron easily, but I will say the following -- my own trousers are actually easier to keep crease free than my jeans, and they are easy to wash and wear. ALL of them. I most definitely wear them for Netflix, walks, travel, work from home -- all of it.
Let me tell you about them.
The ones I'm wearing now -- a very wet travel day—(the Wit and Wisdom navy pants) are made of a polyester/ rayon/ spandex fabric. The style is a moderate wide leg with very small pleats up top that lie flat. They wash in the washer, delicate, and I hang them to dry. I don't even have to iron them. On me, these are full length. These are 3 season pants for me -- fall, winter, spring. I also own a charcoal pair -- the fabric on those is a little different, and slightly warmer (so not really a spring pant) but equally easy care. The blue ones, especially, are workhorses, but I wear each at least once a week in their season.
Pair 3 are J. Crew straight legs -- also a poly blend, also cared for the same way. I don't wear in summer but I wear at all other times of the year.
Pair 4 are ankle length cigarette pants in lightweight wool. I can wear these on a cool summer day as well as all the other seasons, though I don't find them warm enough for full winter here if I am going outdoors for any length of time -- at least not without long undies. They also go in the washer (delicate) and I hang them to dry and touch up with the iron if needed.
The burgundy pants are loose cropped straights -- made of a polyester crepe. Super comfy and wearable spring, fall, and cool summer. (Of course my climate is much cooler than yours -- I get that.) Washable. Wrinkle free.
The Club Monaoo pant is a wool / poly blend -- again -- easy care, no wrinkles.
Finally, my cotton linen pants (summer and late spring/ early fall) from Dries van Noten. Again, I wash and wear these, touching them up with an iron.
Oh -- and my baggy pleated wool pants from BR are made of the same fabric as the cigarette pants -- a very lightweight wool with a tiny bit of stretch.
I don't know if that answers your question but what I'm trying to say is -- first -- not all polyesters are created equal. You might have to try them out and see.
Second, trousers can be extreely easy care, just like athleisure, honestly. I love the way they make me feel pulled together no matter what I'm doing. But a non-binding fit is key to that feeling.
