Since you were an absolute revelation when I was having such difficulty with summer dresses, I am now asking about tops. It's still too hot for sleeves most days, but in about a month it won't be, and I am trying to fill the gap for lightweight casual woven tops that I have. I spent a couple of hours trying on tops yesterday at Macy's and H&M. None of them came home with me, and I am wondering why I can't find what I want. What I have in mind are floaty, looser tops in lightweight cotton/silk/blends in muted solids or florals with a boho vibe like these:

But I absolutely have to stay under $80-$100.
I must have tried on at least 30 tops yesterday, and nothing was quite right. Do you have any thoughts on what to look for, where to look, or what the issue might be?

Thanks Anne- junior sizes don't seem to accomodate my bust. It would make life so much simpler if they did!

I tried this top on at Macy's, but it didn't fit in the bust, and now I see that online it comes in a Jr. Plus. It might be too big, but I did love it.

Khris, first I'd like to say that you have excellent taste! Those examples are all so pretty! Just did a quick and came up with these. I'm sure more stuff will be floating into stores in the next few weeks, too. All I can come up with are solids.

Khris have you tried Express? I often have found a large diversity of tops in their stores.

Boof- I actually have all of those in online shopping carts (except the white one- I have a white tunic and every time I wear it, I get something red on the front so I am avoiding more white shirts).
Sihaya I was at Express recently and didn't find anything.

Khris - no solutions, but I am sharing your blouse challenge. I think it's party due to budget. I'm looking for tops that are a bit less Boho than your selections, but I've also tried on lots and lots and the ones I always love are always so expensive. The nicer fabrics just hang better, and the colors are more appealing to me as well. I'm also hoping the fall will bring some more options!

Khris, my hunch is that it's a little early. You scored at the NAS because that was Autumn merchandise. I haven't run into this type of blouse at a lower price point yet. But I'm pretty sure I will in the next fortnight or so.
