You are not at all inappropriate, Julie. You hit the nail on the head already and its all of the reasons you've mentioned!
It took me 2 years and a month to reveal my identity on YLF and only a year after that did I do the odd outfit post. YLF is not a daily outfit site where I show people what I wear each day. YLF is a place to share stylish thoughts and find solutions to outfit challenges. All budgets, body types, ages and fashion personas. I'd be uncomfortable making this blog about me (one body, age, budget and fashion persona), plus it wouldn't help our readership, nor is it the correct professional thing to do in my opinion - although opinions on this subject will differ.
But over the years, there have been countless requests to see what I wear and that's understandable too. I must practice what I preach. So we *try* to fit in an outfit post every week or fortnight. The pictures have to be of excellent quality and in an interesting location because YLF must maintain a high visual standard - this is one of the things that sets it apart from other sites. Yes - this takes time, which is at a forever shortage!!
When Greg needs to change the background, we do an outfit post too. The combination is a visual winner.
When I feel I have something meaningful to share about an outfit, we shoot it. There is no methodical approach at all actually. And shooting it in a convenient location is key in order to save time - like on our way to a business meeting or out to lunch. They are all outfits that I wear or am already wearing for the day. Nothing is make believe
