Ask Angie: the Curio Tunic fit?

I was tickled to see that Curio Tunic in your Nordstrom Sale post because it was already sitting in my shopping cart while I mull it over. Is that one you have seen in person or tried on clients? I'm wondering about sizing.

I'm usually in between small and medium depending on fit. For this one my measurements fit the medium on the chart, but in other loose and oversized sweaters of this type this year I've been small. They say true to size, but if it fits super loose I might do better with small.

Oy - things are going fast from the sale. I had an Eileen Fisher cardigan in my shopping cart and lost it. Lost something else a few days ago while I asked the SA a question about the item.

I just pressed buy on a few sweaters, though. I can always return if they do not work. That is my story and I am sticking to it!

You can sign up to have an e-mail sent to your in-box if you want a size that's sold out. A month ago, I saw a very cute sweater with a dog on it that I wanted, but Nordie's was out of my size. I signed up for the e-mail thing...and what do you know, an e-mail popped into my in-box yesterday saying that my size was available! So I popped the thing in my shopping cart (discounted from $59 to $19.95 now, tee hee) and checked out. I just got an e-mail saying that the sweater shipped, so it should be mine, mine, mine! So I would sign up for that feature, because maybe the person who just ordered what you wanted will end up returning it, and then you'll have a second chance.

Thanks Gigi, I didn't know about that. It must be new...I asked a few months ago if they had something like that and was told they did not. I'll check it out!

When I tried to move a sweater to my shopping cart a few weeks ago, I was told that it was no longer available in my size and was asked if I wanted to join the waiting list. I said yes and entered my email address where requested. Yesterday I got an email from Nordstrom saying the sweater was now available, and I immediately ordered it. About two hours later, I got another email stating that it was now out of stock and that the order was cancelled. Too bad!

Catnip, I have lost one sweater 3 times that way! But mine even got to the point of saying it was on its way and then was cancelled. 3 times...Grrr! I talked to an SA the 3rd time and she said to call to order and they will nab the one to reserve it...that there is lag time between online orders so the computer says it is in stock when it is already gone.

Elpgal, I am having the same problem. I used the feature before but can't find it now. I wonder if it is because Nordie's is having a big sale to clear everything out? I noticed when I ordered my sweater (the one I got the e-mail alert for) that it had been demoted to Nordstrom Rack in the meantime.

I did a little looking on the Nordie's site, and I think that this option might be available only for full-price items. When it's available, there's a little hyperlink that says "Can’t get the color or size you want? Join the waitlist." The link appears below the buttons "Add to Wishlist" and "Add to Shopping Bag." Here's an example:

FYI, the wait list feature only works on items they're expecting replenishment on. If there is no wait list feature then they're not expecting more in, only returns and such.
