Ask Angie: Tall Boots With Low Heel

Does anyone have a comfy tall boot to recommend? I am seeing a lot of flat boots but not very many with 2-2.5 inch heels. I have a flat mid-calf boot, and would like a knee-high mid-heel boot to wear with dresses this fall. Thanks!

I was just looking at the new series of Frye boots on Endless and they are so beautiful this year. Aren't these beautiful with the studs on the back?

Oops that is the beautiful slouchy Frye boot. There is also one called Fiona Studded boot that is so pretty, on Endless.

Maya - I just ordered those Ecco's in espresso leather for $99 from Endless! I'm worried they'll be too narrow for my calves, but I've learned that the measurements are not always accurate so I'm crossing my fingers. I really want black leather, but if these fit at that price I will be over the moon.

San, I saw that second pair of Frye boots in the Anthropologie catalog and couldn't agree with you more. Gorgeous. I have one pair of boots with a three-inch heel, though, and I wish the Fryes were just a tad lower. There's a big difference in my ability to run around in 2 or 2 1/2-inch heels and 3-inch heels. Maybe it's because I am short with small feet??

Laura, I agree with your accessment of the Frye heels. I also would not purchase those for the reason the heel is too high for me to love. But I sure love the "stars" all over the back of those boots.

Audi looks so good in these boots but I am just not the type for so many wicked studs all over the boots. Wish I were I'd snatch these boots up and they're on sale too.
I must apologize fathenry, in re reading your post I see you are looking for knee high boots and I have posted the calf high boots. I do love Frye's version of knee high boots this year too.

I hope they work out for you Merry. I'll be honest though: I bought them because they fit my narrow calves, but part of the reason they fit is because of the adjustable buckle at the top. Without that they would have fit, but the top would have been a bit roomy.

Maya - That's my concern since I know you have slim calves. But I figured they were worth a shot.

I wouldn't lose hope. There is one review on Endless from a woman with wider calves (15.5") who says they work great for her. And yeah, at $99, why not give it a shot?

Yay! I have a 15.5" calf, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I never read the reviews - I saw your recommendation and then the price. I know the listed circumference is smaller, but I've tried several boots that have been several inches off in either direction so far. I'll know in a couple days.

I just did a whole post on knee-high boots for wide calves and took all my samples from Zappos since I found their inventory so big.
