Ask Angie: Sizing question on these Frye boots

Angie: I've been struggling for a few days on what size to order these. Have you seen these in person by any chance?

I'm normally comfortably size 9 in Frye boots, but the reviews on this particular pair is tempting me to order 8.5s. I don't mind if size 9s are just a little too big, but I don't want my feet to swim in it. I'm planning to wear it in the Dutch summers and rarely in
San Diego winters so I won't wear them with thick socks. What do you recommend?

I have those exact boots! You can see them in my latest threads

Anyhow, after trying my actual size (7.5) and half size down, I got the 7. Works perfectly for thin socks. For thicker socks, the 7.5 worked well. The 7.5 fits more like a traditional cowboy boot -- more loose and slipping a bit in the heel.

I hope you love these boots. They are really comfy and wonderful for the spring and summer.

I'm also hoping you get these boots LoP. I was a bit unsure when I 1st saw someone post them but the more i see them in outfits the more i love them. Doubt i can get them here in the UK so i need lots of others to get them so i can drool! x

Fab boots!!! Perfect for Dutch Springs and Summers. I bought a pair of boots this colour in Milan and they are perfect for Seattle Springs too.

Again depends on the sock and the insole that you put in. Runs true to size with those in place. But if thin socks and no insole are your thing - size down half a size.

Angie: I ended up ordering a 9 because it is easier to fix with thick socks and inserts as you said.

I really appreciate the advice everyone. This is the second time I bought shoes online and the first time I was wrong with the size. (Recent Nicole shooties.) I wanted to make sure this time.
